Nexi launched PayTech University to address two strategic priorities:

  • Shaping the Nexi Group for future growth: fostering a common Group culture by integrating our Values into processes.

  • Building a world-class organization: enhancing how we serve our Clients through cutting-edge products and solutions that require strategic skills.

At Nexi, we believe that learning is a key enabler of growth and innovation. Our development strategy is anchored in PayTech University—an internal training ecosystem that supports every employee throughout their journey, from onboarding to leadership. By continuously strengthening skills and knowledge, we live our value of “shaping payments” through professionalism, promoting excellence and innovation in everything we do.

How do we achieve this?

  • Skills Spread: We share internal knowledge and provide everyone with free access to a comprehensive library of resources and open live sessions. This allows employees to develop a shared mindset while managing their own learning journey, supported by training campaigns, profile-based learning paths, and manager tools.
  • Hyper Up-Skill: We ensure constant updates on the latest trends through external partnerships, identifying relevant events and courses to enhance skill development.

Our Learning Ecosystem

PayTech University is designed to offer flexible, high-impact learning experiences across the Group. It is founded on five key principles:

  • Fostering a collaborative learning community
  • Valuing and empowering internal experts
  • Promoting a culture of recognition and sharing

  • Ensuring a strong practical orientation

Training opportunities within PayTech University are organised into three types:

  • Mandatory Training: Covers all necessary content required by applicable regulations and compliance frameworks, ensuring employees know how to do things correctly and responsibly.

  • Enabling Training: Focuses on professional skills development, including soft skills, language courses, and practical tools that help employees improve their work effectiveness.

  • Empowering Training: Provides resources related to Nexi’s values and behaviours, such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, sustainability, and support during key transition moments in the employee journey. We also integrate learning on ESG, diversity and inclusion, and corporate values, enabling employees to align their personal growth with Nexi’s purpose and culture. Language training and IT security awareness are also part of this stream, supporting cross-border collaboration and compliance.

Through this structured model, we cultivate a learning culture that is inclusive, agile, and aligned with our business transformation goals.

Learning Paths

Foundation Path The Foundation Path offers introductory and transversal training initiatives that provide employees with essential competencies for effective work.

Vertical AcademiesThe Vertical Academies are a cornerstone of Nexi’s commitment to personalized learning, offering focused development opportunities across key areas such as Tech, Sales, HR and Products.

Managerial Path
The Managerial Path includes a wide range of courses focused on leadership, designed in line with the Nexi Values and leadership behaviours promoted across the Group.

Coaching, Mentorship and Collective Learning

We promote mentoring and coaching through initiatives like our Graduate Program, which includes business rotations and structured mentoring. We also deliver team-based learning programs on topics such as leadership and people development, communication, stress management, and remote team management.

Driving Digital Upskilling and AI

As part of our Vertical Academies, the Tech Academy offers structured learning in areas such as software development, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and data analytics. This Academy helps employees adapt to the digital transformation of our industry, with personalized training paths that include AWS certifications, agile methodologies, and technical onboarding. It plays a key role in our digital transition strategy and supports our ambition to remain a leading PayTech player.

Given the growing relevance of Artificial Intelligence and the significant impact it has on the way we work – particularly in terms of future challenges, opportunities, and required skills – we strongly believe it is essential to start building awareness across the organization. For this reason, we have launched a first mandatory training course on AI for the entire employee population. This marks the beginning of a broader learning journey, with additional episodes to follow in the coming months.

Performance Management: Empowering Growth with Purpose

At Nexi, we believe performance management is more than just a process; it's a key enabler of personal and professional growth. Our approach, Nexi Grow, is designed to empower our people to perform at their best, supporting their continuous development through a simplified and transparent experience.

Nexi Grow helps align individual contributions with the company's strategic priorities, fostering a merit-based culture that values both outcomes and behavior. Performance is evaluated based on two key dimensions:

  • What: Clearly defined, measurable qualitative and quantitative goals aligned with business strategy.
  • How: Behavioral goals that reflect and promote Nexi’s Group Values and a positive workplace culture.

Our performance management model is built around cycles of goal-setting, continuous feedback, check-ins, and structured evaluations:

  • Goal Setting: At the start of each year, employees set their What and How objectives in alignment with Nexi’s strategic vision and values.
  • Mid-Year Check-In: A structured conversation to review progress, provide feedback, and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Year-End Evaluation: A comprehensive evaluation of the year’s performance, used to recognize achievements and identify growth opportunities.
  • Continuous Feedback: We encourage open, year-round feedback between employees, managers, and peers to foster growth and accountability.

Individual Development at the Core

At Nexi, development is a shared responsibility, owned by the individual and supported by both leaders and the organization. As part of Nexi Grow, each employee can create an Individual Development Plan to capture aspirations, skills, and actions to drive career growth.

Our PayTech University provides a wide range of learning opportunities that complement these plans, helping employees and leaders explore their potential, set short- and long-term ambitions, and take meaningful steps toward achieving them.
